THE SURVEYORS RACE- WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW?

The Surveyors race here in Starke County is going to be an interesting race. You have the current Surveyor, Mark MacKillop running for State Representative.

The Runners are Dennis Estok on the Democrat Side, Durand Johnson on the Republican side, and then you have Lee Nagai on the Independent ticket. Some interesting information has come up about Mr. Nagai and his eligibility to even run on an independent ticket. Mr. Nagai was appointed by the Commissioners to fill 2 partisan seats on two boards. His appointments to these boards was on the premise that he was or claims to be a Republican. Not only that, but to also mention that on a few other occasions, he went before Republican Caucauses to be considered as a Republican Replacement as surveyor with no avail. So does that make him eligible to be an Independent Candidate? Interpretation of the law reveals that he should resign from those appointments and pursue his candidacy or abandon his current campaign? Should be his choice? Lets see what he does?

he should get out of politics cause hes a joke! So is Denny Estok! he'll be running his business from that job too! or sue all the other candidates cause he lost!

Since everyone hates the choices, how did schrader lose? He was ahead by 279 when I went to bed. Woke up and found out he lost. Spoke with some people who are suppose to be in the know, and was told he actually won if all his votes were counted. I also heard the county crooks at large were in no way going to let him win with this accountability thing he was calling for. Hey does anyone know this guy and where he is, maybe we can do a write in since all our choices now stink.

Starke.County.Sux, we have electronic voting machines, and yes I too voted for Schrader, I think he would be honest and hard working. Yes, the county council does need to change.. Lets Do a clean sweep!! 2 more years and you can get rid of Chuck.. The Count down for him can start on November 4th this year!!

Hey anonymous, think of this. Talking to schrader, listen to this now. He was at this democratic head quarters to wait for the results. 30 minutes before the close of the poles schrader was up by over 140. Dennis Estok and his wife had left the building because they were losing. 10 minutes before the close with only 2 precincts to report he was up by 270 plus. The two precints to report - note the only two left was North Judson. Schrader was told he had lost by 117 Schrader was standing out side the building when Dennis Estok and his wife had been on the phone the whole time schrader was standing out side having his smokes. The results from North Judson was a 50 point win over schrader for Estok. Do the math. 270 - 50 still left schrader as the winner. With that in my mind what was Dennis and his old bag old lady doing, calling in the votes to win? How hard would it be, think of this. The county knows how many registered voters there are, and when someone doesn't actually vote, how hard would it be to get a vote cast from the actual person who is not there. Think of the Daley days when it took how many weeks to get the votes from Chicago to elect Kennedy. Daley kept asking how many do you need and it took weeks. Today it takes seconds on a computerized vote. They know who was at the poles and who wasn't. Just how hard would it be for a couple of crooked poll watchers to be called and log in a voter in someones favor. I think we the tax payers are not only getting screwed but scammed on the polls also.

Drop the schrader deal, he is not an option. If the politics here are that bad, face the facts one guy is not going to change it. If schrader was so good why didn't the papers endorse him, hell an article I read was they didn't even know who he was.

REAL NICE FLAGGG, read one of my other posts, schrader wasn't endorsed because they didn't want him even in the paper. He was only in the market because he paid for the adds from what he told me. Turner didn't want to interview him that fat piece of you know. probably best turner didn't interview him. He would have gotten most of it wrong anyhow and made schrader out to be an idiot. Seems to me the papers did interviews with who they felt like, the underdog in my opinion is schrader and got no help from anyone but a few of his friends. So with that said, who is going to fix my problems I have found with my survey. I didn't think I had any until I looked for things that schrader told me to be looking for and yep for sure just like he said, I HAVE MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH MY SURVEY. Maybe you need to take a look at yours. If you find the plus or minus on property lines like I did, where do you start and stop, and what are you paying taxes on. My survey shows my house is within inches of the lot line and my septic is in the neighbors yard. Who is going to fix this. How much is it going to cost me.

Sorry to hear about your problem s c s but I think I did ok with my survey. I now own my neighbors garage LOL like I am sure he will give me the keys to it. But none the less my survey clearly shows I own my neighbors garage. I know there has to be some sort of answer for this. I am going to see the surveyor in the morning and ask what do we do. I will give you an up date tomorrow on how it goes.

OK. Starke county sux you have just raised my interest now. I live on San Pierre Road and I have a large pole barn, and my neighbor and I have been in dispute for a couple of years now as to where it really is located on my property. Looking at my survey my west line says plus or minus of 39 feet. Where my barn is located would be fine if I do have the 39 feet in my favor. My neighbor on the other hand says my building is 18.5 feet on his property. With looking at his survey, his east line does show my building encroaching. But his survey shows the same as mine on his west end having plus or minus of the same amount. This don't make sense, I am going to the surveyors office for some answers.
